In this course, we will begin  training students to sit in the correct posture. This is to ensure that the sitarist is sitting in a relaxed, comfortable position when playing the instrument. Through this course, students will learn the fundamentals of Hindustani classical music, starting with the basic notes of sa, re, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni.

Students will also learn about the different types of strokes of the sitar that produces varying sounds. They will be taught to  practice the basic notes in different combinations and the ornamentation of these notes. Students enrolling for this course will be able to render the basic to advanced notes in singularity and in combinations, besides being introduced to ragas and light compositions.
